OUR PATRONESS
Our Lady
of the Rosary
Our Patroness. Our Mother. Our Intercessor.
Under the loving care of Our Lady of the Rosary, we seek to follow Christ more closely, grow in faith, and build a vibrant parish family rooted in prayer, service, and community.

MEET OUR PATRONESS
A Special Devotion at Our Parish
Our parish is blessed to bear the name of Our Lady of the Rosary. As our patroness, the Blessed Virgin Mary continually points us toward her Son, Jesus Christ, and accompanies our parish family through her maternal intercession.
Through the Holy Rosary, we contemplate the mysteries of Christ with Mary and are drawn more deeply into a life of prayer, faith, and discipleship.
THE GIFT OF THE ROSARY
A Tradition of Faith
Catholic tradition has long associated the Holy Rosary with St. Dominic and his mission of preaching the Gospel. According to the tradition recounted in our parish history, St. Dominic turned to the Blessed Virgin Mary in prayer during a difficult period of his ministry and was encouraged to preach the mysteries of Christ through the Rosary.
At the heart of this devotion is not simply the repetition of prayers, but contemplation of the life of Jesus Christ with Mary. Through its mysteries, the Rosary invites us to remain close to Christ and to deepen our life of prayer.

OCTOBER 7
Feast of Our Lady
of the Rosary
Each year, the Church celebrates the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary on October 7. For our parish, this day holds an even deeper meaning as we celebrate the feast of our patroness and give thanks for Mary’s maternal intercession.
1571
Our Lady of Victory
On October 7, 1571, the Holy League defeated the Ottoman fleet at the Battle of Lepanto. Pope Pius V, who had called Christians to pray the Rosary, established the Feast of Our Lady of Victory in thanksgiving.
1573
Feast of the Holy Rosary
Pope Gregory XIII renamed the celebration the Feast of the Holy Rosary, strengthening its connection to this Marian devotion.
1913 → TODAY
October 7
In 1913, Pope Pius X moved the celebration to October 7. Today, the Church observes Our Lady of the Rosary on this date, which holds special meaning for our parish.

THE ROSARY AT OUR PARISH
Pray the Rosary with Us
At Our Lady of the Rosary, the Rosary is prayed 30 minutes before every Saturday Vigil and Sunday Mass. All are warmly invited to join our parish family in this shared prayer.
Praying the Rosary together helps prepare our hearts for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and unites us in contemplating the mysteries of Christ with Mary.
